It is a great honor to serve as the president of the 69th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology at JDDW 2027 Kobe.
Recent advances in gastroenterology have been truly remarkable. With the introduction of cutting-edge genomic medicine and AI technology, the evolution of minimally invasive treatments for microlesions, and the unraveling of immune and organ-to-organ interactions, the landscape of our daily clinical practice and research is rapidly changing. These advances extend far beyond technological progress and offer new hope for patients with diseases once considered difficult to treat.
Building on the solid foundation of accumulated knowledge, this annual meeting aims to provide a dynamic platform for active discussion and to help shape the future of gastroenterology. We have developed a diverse program, including special lectures and symposia, to offer a wide range of perspectives on the future of our field. I sincerely hope that this meeting will serve as a source of fresh inspiration for all attendees, acting as a catalyst to further propel your daily clinical practice and research endeavors.
I look forward to welcoming you to Kobe.
