The first JDDW was held in 1993 and has since become one of the largest scientific meetings in Japan, drawing 23,752 participants in 2025. By bringing together physicians, researchers, and medical staff from diverse fields related to digestive diseases, JDDW disseminates the latest findings and information on medical technology. This includes not only specialized fields but also crossover fields.
At JDDW 2027, the "Integrated Program", one of the programs planned by the societies in cooperation, focuses on the themes such as inflammation and carcinogenesis in the gastrointestinal tract, metabolic syndrome, gastrointestinal cancer care for the superelderly, sarcopenia, digital technology, and immunotherapy.
In addition, the "Seminar on Medical Issues" will discuss "Building a sustainable gastroenterology care system: Functional differentiation, collaboration, and workforce circulation in the era of regional healthcare planning". Furthermore, the "Career Diversity Support Program " will focus on " Mentorship in the age of diversity: Role models and network building", while the "Medicalstaff Program" addresses "Future vision of multidisciplinary collaboration supporting transitional care" and "Work style reform: Where we are and where we're heading". Finally, "International Sessions" and "Strategic International Sessions", which emphasize collaboration with countries in Asia, Europe, and North America, are planned for each conference, and many speakers from overseas have been invited.
With your help, we will prepare to make this scientific meeting, of which Japan is proud, a fruitful and rewarding experience. We sincerely look forward to your participation in JDDW 2027.
