I am Akihiko Horiguchi, from Department of Gastroenterological Surgery, Fujita Health University. It is my great honor to host the 22nd annual meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery at JDDW 2024. The integrated program will cover topics such as minimally invasive surgery, cancer immunotherapy, medical digital transformation, and genomic biomarkers. The main topic session will be an in-depth discussion of hot topics such as the conversion surgery for esophageal cancer, and treatment of gastroenterological cancer in the super elderly.

All members of our department will work diligently in collaboration with the preparatory committee members of the five academic societies to make JDDW 2024 a meaningful scientific meeting for everyone who will attend. We are looking forward to welcoming many participants and having fruitful discussions during the beautiful 2024 autumn season in Kobe.
