Title

I am Hironori Yamamoto of the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology at Jichi Medical University. I am chair of the 102nd Congress of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) at JDDW2021.

JDDW is one of the largest academic meetings in the world with over 20,000 participants, and I am honored to be serving as President of the 102nd Congress of the JGES, which has a long history and tradition.

At the 102nd Congress, we are planning a presentation and discussion on “Development of innovative endoscopic devices” as JDDW's Strategic International Session. Recent advances in gastrointestinal endoscopy have been remarkable, and I believe that less invasive and more reliable endoscopic diagnosis and treatment will be available in the future. In this session, following the keynote lecture by a well-established Western authority, we would like to hear about new innovations in Western countries, Asian countries, and Japan, leading to the further development of gastrointestinal endoscopy in the future.

In the two international sessions, we will discuss “new challenges for minimally invasive endoscopic treatment” and “the role of each imaging modality and endoscopic treatment in the management of small intestinal diseases.” In addition, 3 JGES core sessions and 10 more main sessions are offered. We sincerely ask you to submit abstracts and participate in the conference to ensure the success of JDDW2021 and the 102nd Congress of the JGES.
