I. Regarding holding

[Important] Information Regarding JDDW 2020

JDDW has decided to hold the congress in a hybrid congress (both on-site and virtual) after careful deliberation on the recent issue of the COVID-19 based on the infection status as of September 30.

As a part of infection control, we will abolish the on-site registration. Please note that if you have not registered in advance, you will not be able to enter even if you come to the venue. Please refer to this website for more information, as we will update the information on this website.

[Important] General presentation (digital poster)

Regarding general abstracts (digital posters), we have decided to publish them in various media (published in abstracts) for the purpose of avoiding congestion, and we will not make oral presentations at the venue or on the website.
Only poster excellent presentation will be announced at the venue.

E-abstract application "JDDW"

An e-abstract application for iPhones and Android terminals is also available to use (enabling presentation searches and creation of personalized schedules).

Introduction of the major functions of the e-abstract application

  • Searching: Search and confirm the details of each presentation.
  • Bookmark: Register the programs you intend to participate in and show them in list form on screen.
  • Alarm: Receive notifications of your bookmarked schedule of programs.
  • Ongoing session: View ongoing programs.
  • Timetable: Confirm the timings and locations of each program in list form.
  • Venue map: Utilize session-based venue search and location-based session search.

II. For speakers at theme sessions

Please submit your video lecture in advance to prevent any communication problems on the congress date. The secretariat will confirm your ability to join the conference live via the web for general discussion and Q&A.

Presentation slides for theme sessions (Symposium, Panel Discussion, Workshop, and Sponsored Event), including non-international sessions, are required to be created in English language (language for oral presentation at non-international sessions is Japanese).

The details of data preparation will be notified in early September by the congress secretariat.
Please refer to the information below for data preparation.

  • 1)The deadline for submission of your lecture video will be around October. The specific date will be announced later.
  • 2)Please submit your data before the due date.
  • 3)Please be informed that, in case your data submission is not completed by the deadline, your abstract will be cancelled automatically and penalties may be imposed.
  • 4)Your presentation data must be submitted as a video file (mp4). Please be informed that presentation slides without voice recording will not be accepted.

III. For speakers at digital poster session (General Session)

The oral presentations of general abstracts (digital poster) will not be carried out this year. Instead, publication of your abstract will be treated as the equivalent of the oral presentation.
The poster excellent presentation will be announced at the venue.

IV.  Regarding changing and modification of your presentation from abstract submission

Presentation should be based on your abstract which has been accepted by program committee.

* Please do not change and modify the content of your abstract on your presentation.

V. Disclosure of conflicts of interests during presentations

Potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed when making oral presentations. This information must be shown using the disclosure statement of your society on the screen for theme sessions, the digital poster for International Poster Session.

The conflicts of interest subjected for disclosure are the ones related to a presenting abstract not personalized(private).

VI.  Penalty for cancellation of abstract after the notification of acceptance and absence without notice on the day of the event

Please note that you may be subject to be penalized by the academic society when cancellation of abstract after the notification of acceptance was issued or your absence without notice on the day of the event was confirmed.

VIII. For participants

1. Photos and video

Participants are prohibited from taking photos or videos of the screen during presentations at JDDW 2020.
Please do not take photos (including screenshots) or record videos at the presentation venue and web conference.

2. Programs

  • (i)As we informed you in the application guidelines for topics, joint sessions on topics will be attributed to the academic society nominated by the presenters.
  • (ii)Presentations with mark are denoted awarded prizes for Congress' Presidents Award, as judged by Congress' Presidents of each poster outstanding society.
  • (iii)Presentations with ★ mark are denoted awarded prizes for Outstanding Poster Award, as judged by peer reviewers of each academic society.
  • (iv)Presentations with mark are denoted awarded prizes for Young Investigator Award, as judged by peer reviewers of each academic society.
  • (v)Presentations with mark are denoted awarded prizes for Travel Award Program winners, as judged by peer reviewers of each academic society.
  • (vi)The topics printed in the program are taken directly from the summary of applications received over the Internet. For this reason, the writing style is not unified (except for a portion that has been automatically modified). Note that the organizations the presenters belong to, together with their English names, are expressed using abbreviations based on the rules of the JDDW 2020 Operating Committee.
    * After the deadline for topic registration, we investigated the official names of these societies and chose abbreviations for them. Please note that as a result, our names for societies may differ from their official names.

3. Breakfast seminars

Breakfast seminars will be held from 8:00 throughout the conference.

4. Admission ticket for Sponsored events

Only those who have already booked a visit to the venue can enter the Sponsored events of not only the luncheon seminar but also Breakfast seminars and Satellite Symposium with a numbered ticket system.
Ticketing time is as follows.

5. Commercial exhibition

Regarding the exhibition that was planned to be held, The exhibition was canceled due to infection control.

6. First-aid room

For the duration of JDDW a first-aid room will be available in CS Room on Portopia Hotel Main Building 1F If necessary, the staff will refer you to a nearby hospital. For inquiries about the first-aid room, please contact the headquaters (Portopia Hotel South Wing 5F 552+554).

7. Wireless LAN spots

You can access to the Internet through a free wireless LAN in all area of Kobe International Exhibition Hall No. 1 to 2 and Kobe International Conference Center.

8. Contacting other participants

Do not call.

* No announcements or slide calls will be made within the venue.

9. Lost and found

Any items that have been handed in to the lost and found will be stored at General Information located in Kobe International Exhibition Hall No.1 Building 2F, Portopia Hotel Main Building 1F Lobby.

10. Shuttle bus service

During the period of JDDW a complimentary shuttle bus service exclusively for participants will be provided between Shin-Kobe Station and Kobe International Exhibition Hall.
*Running times: November 5 (Thu) to November 7 (Sat), 7:00 – 18:00 (every 20 minutes)
* Given the limited number of vehicles available, priority may be given to participants with limited mobility or other infirmities. Your understanding is appreciated.
* Considerable congestion is expected.
So if you are in a hurry, please use the Port-liner together.

11. Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in the venue of JDDW 2020.

12. Shipping

There is no shipping service at JDDW 2020.

13. Inquiries during JDDW 2019

During the period of JDDW, please direct any inquiries relating to JDDW or the participating societies to the Operations Center.
