The 24th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery
President: Hideki Ueno
Department of Surgery, National Defense Medical College

It is my honor to serve as President of the 24th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Gastroenterological Surgery (JSGS) at JDDW 2026. My name is Hideki Ueno from the National Defense Medical College. I am truly grateful to be entrusted with hosting the academic meeting of the esteemed and historic JSGS. This will be the first time my university has served as host, and all our colleagues are dedicated to working together to ensure the success of the meeting.

This annual meeting, held in conjunction with JDDW, provides a valuable platform for multidisciplinary exchange and discussion, covering a wide spectrum from basic research to the clinical and pathological diagnosis and treatment of gastroenterological diseases. This is a highly international and interdisciplinary academic meeting, providing an excellent opportunity for gastroenterological surgeons to acquire the latest knowledge and consider optimal treatment approaches. We look forward to in-depth discussions on the current status, challenges, and future directions of gastroenterological surgery, aspiring to identify guiding principles for the future, together with all participants.

We hope to see you in very beautiful city in Japan Kobe in the autumn of 2026.
