Optimal treatment sequencing in inflammatory bowel disease

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic, relapsing inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract requiring lifelong managements. Nowadays, the armamentarium for the treatment of IBD is continuously expanding, however, there has been a debate on the optimal sequencing of therapies for the improvement of disease outcomes in IBD. In this lecture, I would like to review the current evidence for the sequencing of medications for IBD and the importance of multidisciplinary approach for IBD patients.
