New frontiers of omics approach in gastroenterology
Chairperson Hiroshi Ohno RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences
Takahiro Kodama Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine
High-throughput technologies have revolutionized medical research and a variety of omics are available including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, and so on. Integration across multiple omics layers also has become enables us to obtain comprehensive understanding of biological events with multidimensional cellular and molecular information that underlie diseases. Furthermore, recent technological advances are providing unprecedented opportunities to analyze the complexities of such biological systems at the single-cell level and even integrated with cell-to-cell topographical information. In this strategic international session, we would like to have presentations on the latest research with omics approach to further understand the disease biology in gastroenterology, and discuss future prospects.
