Globalization of advanced endoscopy: What the world needs from Japan

Japan is globally recognized for its remarkable progress in gastrointestinal endoscopy both in terms of diagnosis and therapy. It is essential to spread Japanese advanced endoscopic techniques in order to standardize endoscopy worldwide as well as to encourage international competitiveness and growth in this field. There is a variety of disease burden and medical environment worldwide. For this reason it is imperative to clarify these current issues affecting globalization of Japanese advanced endoscopy. To this end, this session is aimed to provide a platform to discuss these issues and identify what is required from Japan to standardize advanced endoscopy globally. A number of presentations are expected today delivered not only by Japan, but worldwide.
