In April 2015, we invited doctors from middle east countries(Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran) to our hospital and introduced the endoscopy Center. After the meeting, we deepened our relationship. In January 2016, we were invited to the SGA(Saudi Gastroenterology Association) to speech and demonstrate about endoscopy, endoscopic therapy and the screening methods for colorectal cancers. In Saudi Arabia, there are only few medical schools and most of the doctors are from Europe, America or Asian countries. Saudi Arabian doctors were concerned about the system for medical education as a national subject. They were especially interested in the screening methods of colorectal cancers and the educational system for the trainees. Attending the SGA, we can realize the medical level in Japan, especially in the field of endoscope, is highly esteemed worldwide. Unfortunately, not many doctors in Japan recognize the great demand from overseas for the advanced endoscopic technology. We must provide furthermore opportunities for international exchanges to meet the need. The lack of medical interchanges, compared to Europe and America, might even harm the national interest of Japan. Hopefully this special exhibition in JDDW, will be the commemoration as an endoscopist for Japan and Saudi Arabia. May this be the first year for international exchange between both countries.
